Every year, the United Arab Emirates celebrates the founding of the nation, formed from seven Emirates. In 2023, the celebration coincided with COP28 being hosted in Dubai, bringing the world to the UAE for vital climate talks, attended by world leaders and heads of states.
The task was to create and celebrate the 52nd Union Day (formerly National Day) in a spectacular stage experience and environmental space that would focus on sustainability, unity, openness and progress.
The creative theme of the event would tell a story of a changing country, embracing the possibilities of the future while cherishing its past. But most importantly it had to be designed and built using the most sustainable materials and techniques available.
My role as Creative Lead was to head the creative team, with design of all branding and art installations throughout the event site as well as items within the show itself.

As well as graphic design I also like to indulge in contemporary collage work influenced by Surrealism and Pop-Art. I like to combine vintage ephemera with landscapes, personalities, flora and fauna to create dreamy, imaginary scenes using found materials, scavenged from antique books, retro magazines, packaging, slides, photographs and postcards.
I’ve had my collage work exhibited throughout the UK as well as internationally, and recently had work published in Creative Review.
Over in the Print Shop you can purchase originals and prints of some of my pieces.
